Are you a passionate and experienced educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SENCO to join a school and lead the provision for pupils with additional needs.
Duties as a SENCO Teacher:
* Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils.
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies for children with diverse learning needs.
* Develop and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authorities to provide the best outcomes for pupils.
* Lead and support a team of teaching assistants and SEN staff, providing training and guidance where necessary.
* Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND regulations, policies, and best practices.
* Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
What you need for this Primary School Teacher position:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching.
* A National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it).
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
* Experience developing and implementing EHCPs and IEPs.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to reach their full potential.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
