One of our Clients are looking for a Qualified Principal Social Worker who will focus on Court Work.
As the Principal Social Worker, you will be a case holding social worker working with approximately 10/11 children (4/5 families) who are subject to care proceedings. You will be responsible for all aspects of the case management including statutory visiting, care planning and review, and court.
You will work with children and their families to assist in decision making for Children to remain at home or return home to their parents. Assessments will need to consider the current risks and associated protective factors whilst also identifying the likelihood of sustained change within the child’s timescales.
You will have experience of working with children subject to care proceedings and their families and produce work of an excellent standard which provides recommendations based upon sound evidence-based analysis.

Responsibilities of you as a Social Worker:
8. Ensure the best outcomes for the children and young people.
9. Undertake assessments using the DOH Framework of assessment and have knowledge and understanding of the principals of the NSPCC Reunification framework.
10. To undertake and promote the effective assessment, care planning, intervention and review for children in need of care and support, including children in need of being looked after and/or protection, including circumstances where it is necessary for the local authority to initiate legal proceedings to safeguard children.
11. To undertake complex and high-risk cases or arrange complex or high value packages of care.
12. Support children and young people through robust assessment, outcome focused planning and effective intervention to support them in achieving positive outcomes within their families and communities.
Requirements of you as the Social Worker:
13. Social Care Wales registration
14. A recognised qualification in Social Work
15. A full UK driving licence
16. DBS clearance
17. Authority to work in the UK
Location: South Wales
Salary scale: £42,– £45,/strong> dependent on experience
