Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Sandwell Council, Children's Brief Intervention Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Working with children and families currently subject to CIN plans, with the aim of stepping the cases down or closing them down completely.
2. Working as part of the Brief Intervention Team, you will be assigned six families for whom a six-week period of intervention is likely to result in safe closure or step-down for the children.
3. You will visit them, complete any intervention required to progress to safe closure or step down, undertake CIN reviews and record your work.
4. Visits will be face to face where possible, but we’ll also provide you with the latest technology to make virtual visiting meaningful.
5. There will be no statutory assessments or court work.
6. The initial contract will be for twelve weeks with a view to rolling this over for an additional twelve weeks.
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
