Building Surveyor
An opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor (up to Senior level) to join our Building Consultancy department in Glasgow, Scotland. The team deals with a range of investor clients, including M&G, Aberdeen Standard Investments and Aviva, and corporate occupier clients such as Barclays, JPMC, Diageo and Chivas, with a diverse range of projects from £150k to £30million in value.
The successful candidate will join a busy Edinburgh office and be working alongside other internal departments such as Investment, Agency, Managed Services, Valuations, Lease Advisory, Planning and Rating, to provide holistic, commercial advice to our clients.
We are looking for an outward-looking, commercial Building Surveyor with a sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.
What this job involves
1. Liaising with other Teams and Clients to develop business.
2. Providing project management expertise and administering new build, repair and refurbishment projects and internal fit outs.
3. Assembling and managing design teams for project delivery.
4. Developing & delivering best practice for the delivery of project management.
5. Supporting your project and building surveying colleagues if required.
6. Assisting with coordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required.
7. Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times.
8. Building on existing relationships and developing new opportunities.
9. Some travel will be required in this role.

1. Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
2. Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated, capable of managing external consultants.
3. Strong verbal and numerical skills, comfortable with report writing.
4. Excellent time management and general organisational skills.
5. Flexible and able to work under pressure.
6. Well presented with excellent communication skills.
7. MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy.
8. Experience of AutoCAD an advantage.
9. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel and Outlook.
10. Clean driving licence.
