We are currently looking for Class 1 General Haulage Drivers to join our General Haulage team based in Preston. We currently have opportunities to work on dayshift or nightshift with a variety of shift patterns available. In this role, you will deliver a professional and efficient LGV driving service, undertaking deliveries and collections of products on behalf of Wm Armstrong Group. You will comply with all relevant legislation including WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, load security, vehicle weights and dimensions and the Road Traffic Act, ensuring the safety of yourself and other road users at all times. You will also keep in regular contact with the office teams for updates on progress and managing customers expectations. To be successful in this role you will be a real team player, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and good geographical knowledge. You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence, a current CPC card and digital tachograph card. Experience and knowledge of the haulage industry would be advantageous, but training may be available for the right candidate. The weekday dayshift hourly rate is £14.00 and the weekday nightshift hourly rate is £15.50, with enhanced rates available for working weekend working. The 4 on 4 off basic salaries are £33,020 for dayshift and £36,030 for nightshift, with additional shifts available at £182.68 weekday dayshift and £206.85 weekday nightshift, with enhanced rates available for weekend working.
