Internship: Human Resource Management
About Rocky Mountain French Bulldog Rescue (RMFBR)
Rocky Mountain French Bulldog Rescue (RMFBR), a foster-based, 501c3, has assisted in the rescue of over 100 dogs a year since 2014. Our mission is Every French Bulldog Deserves a Furever Home because our goals are happy and healthy homes for all dogs with medical needs rather than only physical or behavioral. We currently have three Board members and one full-time staff (Executive Director). Our volunteer base and foster homes are currently at 330 for 2023 with approximately 10 very dedicated volunteers.
About the Role
We are seeking a mission-driven, animal-loving intern with business and administrative skills to help manage day-to-day operations of the rescue. This role will report to the Executive Director and will interact daily with the RMFBR Board. This is an entry-level flat rate paid internship.
Job Description
RMFBR is looking for a well-organized Executive Assistant to provide support for our Executive Director. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to be involved in the day-to-day running of a non-profit and/or animal welfare to contribute to the overall efficiency of our organization.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Organizing and tracking needs as they arise.
2. Foster organization: vet appointments, foster records including applications, items needed for foster homes.
3. Donation organization: photograph and list items for the boutique and auctions. Setting up auctions and boutique by gathering donations, photographing and listing, possible pickup and distribution of items. Management of donor records including thank you letters, data collection, and entry into platforms. May include management and tracking of daily accounting (no actual accounting).
4. Executive assistance as needed and directed may include media and marketing.
5. Possible use of Asana, Canva, Slack, Google Drive. Prefer knowledge of how to post on WordPress. Onboarding provided if needed.
Education and Experience
* You are currently enrolled in a business, marketing, or communications undergraduate degree program.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and able to learn new programs quickly.
* Access to a computer with Internet.
* Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Some in-person meetings may be required and will be scheduled with advance notice.
Qualifications
* You are a purpose-driven, enthusiastic, collaborative thinker, and doer who values attention to detail.
* Previous nonprofit experience and/or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, or marketing and communication preferred.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to use time and resources effectively to meet job requirements.
* Should be organized, self-motivated, and a team player.
* Must have strong skills in the following: verbal/written communication, computer applications (ex. Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Drive).
