Christ’s Hospital is looking to appoint a First XI Cricket Coach to join its Sports Department. The successful candidate will be expected to play a pivotal role in the coaching, coordination, management, and promotion of Cricket at CH. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for cricket and a commitment to excellence.
The Head of Cricket oversees the whole cricket programme which is staffed by a number of coaches, made up of academic members of the common room and external coaches. The school runs 12 teams from u12’s to 1st XI with the sport being accessible to both boys and girls. Facilities for cricket are outstanding with 8 grass squares, 2 artificial pitches, 6 grass nets and 7 artificial nets, including a bay of 4 new, state of the art nets. All cricket facilities are superbly maintained by an experienced and dedicated grounds team. The school aims to nurture a love for the game and has a very strong link with Horsham Cricket Club, with school pupils regularly training and playing for the club. The school also has very strong links with Sussex County Cricket Club, with the current Head of Cricket being a Sussex County Cricket Pathway Coach. In recent years a number of CH pupils have played county youth cricket for Sussex, Kent and Buckinghamshire.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of coaching cricket to a high standard. The candidate will be highly motivated and fully prepared to undertake the demands of working in a unique co-educational boarding school.
