Production Supervisor
Reporting To: Section Manager or Department Manager
Department: High Risk
Site: Cranswick Convenience Foods – Milton Keynes
Job Purpose:
As an Operations Supervisor, you will lead a production team to deliver daily operational plans within your area. You will ensure that processes, production, and product quality meet the highest safety and specification standards as per customer and company requirements. You will create a dynamic and friendly environment for your teams to work in.
This is a hands-on role where you will participate in production activities and ensure your teams adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure daily plans are delivered and escalate any production issues to the Section or Department Manager.
* Ensure teams comply with company and legislative health & safety, food safety, and personal hygiene procedures and regulations.
* Participate in training procedures and ensure the team follows them correctly.
* Assist operational management in achieving or improving performance targets.
* Maintain agreed GMP standards and achieve green results on weekly audits by the technical team.
* Work with other Supervisors and Section/Department Managers to reduce production NCRs, maintaining levels to the green standard.
* Promote team training and development through appraisals and on-the-job training.
* Provide cover for the Section Manager/Department Manager in their absence.
* Complete Employee Relations tasks such as recruitment, disciplinaries, and performance management.
* Promote teamwork and exceed customer and company expectations in all areas.
* Represent the company’s high standards at all times and conduct yourself professionally and positively.
* Ensure all required paperwork for your shift is completed and systems updated.
* Conduct shift handovers to ensure excellent operation across the week.
* Lead and inspire a successful team, developing them through effective objective setting, feedback, support, and stretch targets.
* Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.
Technical Skills and Experience:
* Experience as a successful Team Leader or Supervisor.
* Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and health & safety principles.
* Good literacy and numeracy levels – able to write and speak in English.
* IOSH Working Safely certification.
* Food Safety Level 2 certification.
* Previous experience leading an engaged and high-performing team.

Additional Responsibilities:
