Experimental Cocktail Club Chinatown is the first London venue from Experimental Group (Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, Henrietta Hotel, Cowley Manor, and STEREO). Established in 2011 in the heart of Chinatown, the Experimental Cocktail Club is a two-floors speakeasy bar.
Job: General Manager
Based in: Experimental Cocktail Club Chinatown
Salary: From £60,000 (including base salary + tronc)
Experimental Cocktail Club is on the lookout for a experienced General Manager to lead our vibrant team at our Chinatown location. Were seeking a dynamic leader with a strong background in people management, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of both operational and administrative responsibilities. A genuine passion for cocktails, the London cocktail scene, and an extensive knowledge of spirits and emerging cocktail trends are essential.
Additionally, Experimental Cocktail Club is undergoing an exciting transformation with a refurbishment this summer, and were looking for someone who is eager to play an integral role in the reopening process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management
* Lead and actively support the team both behind the bar and on the floor, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service, while setting the standard as a GM who leads by example.
* Manage scheduling, ensuring employees, resources, and activities align with business goals and operational requirements.
* Address staff concerns, manage complaints, and handle disciplinary actions in partnership with the HR and operations teams.
* Develop training plans with managers to promote team growth and career development within ECC.
* Conduct performance reviews with managers and staff, offering constructive feedback and strategies for improvement.
Product & Vision
* Collaborate with the management team to ensure daily operations align with the companys long-term vision and strategic goals.
* Innovate and craft cocktails that elevate our guests experience.
* Curate and implement a forward-thinking music program that complements the venues atmosphere.
Financial
* Partner with accounting to ensure timely financial reporting and adherence to budget deadlines.
* Drive financial success by managing and meeting department budget KPIs.
* Control labor costs effectively and ensure operational budgets are met.
* Oversee inventory management to maintain efficiency and reduce waste.
* Set and achieve revenue targets to increase profitability year over year.
Marketing, Public Relations & Brand Relations
* Collaborate with the management team to lead and execute marketing and PR strategies in line with seasonal activities and promotions.
* Coordinate and oversee pop-up experiences and brand activations that drive customer engagement, boost brand visibility, and generate buzz across multiple channels
Legal & Compliance
* Maintain ongoing communication with the Health & Safety consultant, ensuring the venue complies with all regulations and that all staff complete mandatory training via our platform.
* Manage relationships with local neighbors and authorities, ensuring compliance with neighborhood and noise regulations.

ABOUT YOU
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a comparable venue.
* Focused on teamwork, collaboration, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Strong knowledge of business management principles and practices.
* Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on customer needs.
* Social, engaging, and highly motivated with a flair for customer service.
* In-depth knowledge of spirits and classic cocktails.
* Flexible and quick to adapt to diverse work situations.
* Additional language skills are a plus.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
