Working with 2mm to 10mm Mild Steel, candidates will be required to weld in various positions including overhead and vertical up.\n\nPredominantly supporting the production and repair of passenger carriages and rolling stock sections, including the replacement of solebars, internal supporting columns and whole floor refurbishments. Candidates will be required to cut, grind and strip out corroded material before refitting and joining new sections using MIG process.\n\nMost welds will be undertaken in position so a good level of experience with MIG welding in the Vertical Up and Overhead position is crucial to be considered for this role.\nThis role would be ideal for candidates from the Plant/Equipment repair background as well as Fabricator Welders coming from Quarry / heavy machine refurbishment.\n\nCandidates will have:\n- Experience of Mild Steel MIG welding including positional work (Vertical Up and Overhead)\n- Experience of MIG (Steel)\n- NVQ 2 Required\n\nSuccessful candidates will be asked to attend a weld test- where they will be required to complete:\n\nFillet Weld in Vertical Up and Overhead positions - ( 2mm and 6mm ) - Solid Wire MIG\nWeld test at 6pm\n\nPLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUGS AND ALCOHOL SCREENING BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION
