Role Overview
Reporting to the Head Technical Manager, we are seeking a Technical Lead to drive our roadmap to net zero and support our customers with their ESG strategies. In this role, you will work closely with the Group Environmental Manager in assessing and enhancing the environmental and ethical impact of our business and supply chain. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategies that align with customer standards and regulatory requirements, supporting customer and grower visits, and maintaining customer and internal data requirements, including analysis and reporting. Beyond compliance, this role is about leading, inspiring, and embedding sustainability values into everyday business practices.

You are a dynamic self-starter with a passion for sustainability and ethics in the fresh produce supply chain. This role is ideal for someone with relevant experience in fresh food, looking to advance their technical career within the fast-paced and exciting avocado growth category.
Skills And Qualifications
* Great attention to detail when managing data.
* Energy, enthusiasm, and a thirst for learning.
* Well-organized with a keen eye for detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* A strong understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., Manufacture 2030, CDP, WRAP, Courtauld Commitment 2030).
The Avocado Company, based at our newly invested Ripening Centre of Excellence in Paddock Wood, collaborates with grower partners worldwide. We are an established, growth-focused business, supplying top-quality avocados to retail (major supermarkets), wholesale, and food service customers in the UK and overseas.
The Hours You Would Work
Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm onsite in Paddock Wood, Kent. (we are unable to offer hybrid working)
