Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Construction to join the team at HMP Guys Marsh. This is a part-time role, working 32 hours per week. Day to day duties Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning. Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress. Accurately completing registers, learner enrolments and completions. Participation in all team meetings and continued professional development. Required skills and qualifications A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. Teaching Qualification Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies. All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College. About HMP Guys Marsh HMP Guys Marsh is an adult male, Category C, prison. The education department offers a diverse range of courses, including bricklaying, cleaning/waste management, construction, IT, multi-skills and PSD. HMP Guys Marsh runs accredited programmes on thinking skills, drug rehabilitation and anger management. A variety of work is available to residents, including laundry, kitchen, gym and industrial cleaning. Some of this work can result in recognised external qualifications.
