We are now looking for a Assembly Fitter to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location for the position is in Havant, UK.
This role would suit someone with experience with hydraulics, industrial pipe fitting, heavy mechanical assembly, high pressure testing (air and water), and assembly and process testing of composite and metal work assemblies.
As Assembly Fitter, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
* Assembly of heavy duty shaftline seals
o Positioning, assembly, and alignment of large multi-component seals using hand tools and lifting equipment
o Testing of large multi-component assemblies – High pressure water and air
o Ensuring all assemblies meet drawing specifications - Torque settings/alignment/test results
o Support engineering in development assembly and testing
o Cut/bond and assemble rubber components
* Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineering teams to resolve non-conforming product
* Communicate with all ops teams to ensure proactive actions are taken to meet OTIF.
* Continuous improvement relating to process assessment and review.
* All duties carried out to be done in a safe manner following H&S safety procedures.
* Support stores and packing teams in line with business demand.
* Rubber parts to be cut/bonded to spec.
* Work between Assembly/Rubber and Stores operations, driven by business demand/workload requirements.
* MAIN AND PRIMARY ROLE: Assembly/Rubber duties require the assembling and testing of seals to drawing specification, and cut/bond rubber parts.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* Experience/background of working in a production/engineering environment is essential.
* Understand Health & Safety environment/procedures.
* Mechanical/assembly aptitude.
* Read and understand drawings is essential.
* Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
* Flexibility to work across Logistics Operations teams.
* Safety awareness.
* Ideally educated to college standard or solid experience working in manufacturing industry.
* Industry standard computer packages (Microsoft / MRP systems).
* Good mechanical aptitude.
* Understanding of mechanical engineering and assembly process disciplines.
* Strong experience of working to and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Working with high pressure test machinery (air and water).
