Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated 1-1 Learning Mentor to join our team in Tiverton. If you have a strong background in working with children or young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and trauma, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1-1 support to students, fostering their emotional well-being and personal development.
2. Help students engage with learning, building their confidence and motivation.
3. Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.
4. Implement strategies to help manage challenging behaviour.
5. Monitor and track the progress of the student, adjusting interventions as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, trauma, or challenging behaviour is preferred.
2. A calm, resilient, and adaptable nature to handle complex situations.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. A valid driving licence is essential, as the role may involve travel to different locations.
5. A proactive and compassionate approach, focused on the individual needs of the child.
