The Position Applications are invited for an Effluent Plant Operative based at our Doncaster site. This is a full time, permanent, position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As an Effluent Plant Operative, your duties and responsibilities will vary on the Company’s requirements but will include the following: Operate and maintain the effluent treatment plant, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Monitor and record plant parameters, including flow rates, pH levels, chemical dosing, and discharge quality. Carry out routine sampling and testing to maintain permit compliance. Identify and troubleshoot process issues, implementing corrective actions as needed. Maintain accurate records of plant operations and compliance data. Work closely with the environmental team to ensure best practices in waste management and water treatment. Support the boiler operator in monitoring and maintaining the site’s steam boiler system. Carry out water testing and chemical dosing for the boiler and water treatment systems. Assist with routine inspections and minor maintenance of boiler and water treatment equipment. Follow safety procedures and compliance guidelines for boiler operation and water treatment tasks. Assist with general yard operations, including waste segregation, housekeeping, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Operate yard equipment and machinery as required (e.g., forklifts, telehandlers, or similar). Support maintenance activities within the yard, including minor repairs and servicing of equipment. The Person Experience of manual handling is essential. Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word and Outlook. Holds a forklift or telehandler licence or is willing to obtain one. Experience within a similar role with knowledge and experience of mechanical maintenance is advantageous. Basic knowledge of water treatment processes and chemical dosing is desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to use own initiative. Self-motivated and conscientious with a positive attitude
