Job Description:
A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy is looking for a Cybersecurity/ Network Engineer for a 9-month contract with a major financial services company, based in Milton Keynes, Inside IR35.
The Cybersecurity/ Network Engineer will join an existing team providing support across UK networks. The engineer will require sound knowledge of security principles and skills in security systems deployment and support. General networking and troubleshooting skills are also required.
Role Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the management and support of the cybersecurity systems and applications ensuring 24/7/365 availability covering all levels of support (1st/2nd/3rd Line).
2. Technical Project Delivery.
3. Fault Management - In depth Call and incident Management.
4. Escalations - Ensure the right technical level input is provided for all assigned escalations.
5. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance/upgrade/documentation of all security infrastructure components.
6. Provide architectural design/implementation of network and security projects as per corporate standards/best practice and business requirements.
7. Perform ongoing audits/vulnerability analysis on key security/network components and ensuring compliance against regulatory requirements.
8. Developing other team members through mentoring and skills/knowledge transfer.
Knowledge and skills required:
Essential:
Core Security Skills
Firewalls: Check Point / Juniper Netscreen / SRX / Palo Alto
Provider-1/NSM, SonicWall Network Security Manager
GAIA/SPLAT
IPS: Sourcefire/ Firepower / McAfee / Check Point
Core Network Skills
Understanding of TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, VPN, Routing (OSPF, BGP).
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers, other teams, and management.
Desirable:
Preferably minimum Checkpoint CCSE & advanced troubleshooting skills.
DLP, Automation, Cloud Technologies, Micro-segmentation
CISSP
Spanish language skills
Core hours are 8am - 6pm on a rota 8-4, 9-5 or 10-6. Onsite in the office 2 days a week (must do 8 days a month). Ad hoc office visits based on workshops/meetings. On call 24*7, 1 week in 6 or as required to help cover sickness/holidays. Out of hour work to deliver projects/requests.
