Salary: £35,392 - £42,618 per annum

Job Overview:
To support the Senior Team Leaders/Theatre Manager to manage a team of practitioners ensuring the development and maintenance of high standards of Perioperative care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational and resource management of the clinical area.
2. Lead specific areas of professional practice as delegated by the Senior Team Leaders.
3. Act as a leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by more junior qualified staff, unqualified staff, and student nurses/ODP’s in the perioperative team.
4. Take responsibility for operational and financial resource management, as delegated by Senior Team Leaders / Theatre Manager.
5. Deputise for the Senior Team Leaders in their absence.
6. Assist with the Training & Development Programmes for the following groups of staff:
1. Preceptorship of Newly Qualified Practitioners.
2. Training & Development programmes for Registered Practitioners.
3. Return to Practice staff.
4. Mentorship of Nursing/ODP students.
5. Mentorship/Training & Development programmes for Support Workers.
7. Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care to patients in the perioperative environment.
8. Deliver a high standard of perioperative care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
9. Provide skilled clinical assistance to the surgical, anaesthetic, and recovery teams.
10. Undertake and document comprehensive, systematic, and accurate perioperative care assessment of the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
11. Create and utilize opportunities to promote health and wellbeing of patients in their care.
12. Ensure that all staff work within the Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with NMC/HCPC Guidelines.
13. Ensure that adequate resources are available to meet the needs of the patients.
14. Assist with the management of department resources in an efficient and effective manner.
15. Maintain a positive attitude to continuing professional education in order to enhance knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for safe and effective perioperative practice.
16. Maintain standards by ensuring that evidenced-based practice underpins all health care interventions.
17. Inform the Senior Team Leader/Theatre Manager of any professional concerns at the earliest opportunity.
