The Family Surgery is a friendly and forward thinking practice in Southport. We are keen to appoint a Salaried GP, applications for part-time or full-time will be considered.
The practice does have a Tier 2 sponsorship licence.
The vacancy is due to our rapidly growing list size and a recent practice closure.

Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner,responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population,delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with thecontract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere tothe GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effectivemanagement of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive,collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The Family Surgery is a well-established, innovative,hardworking and a friendly practice located in Birkdale, Southport. We are asupportive practice that values team working and communication.
Our team comprises of 2 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs (1 full-time and 1 part-time), 1 NursePractitioner, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 GP Assistant and other healthcare practitioners who are allsupported by our receptionists and administration team. We have dedicated pharmacist support who deal with the majority of prescription requests.
We deliver additionalservices at the surgery such as medical cover for Discharge to Assess beds, vasectomy and minor surgery services. Our current patient list is 4780 patients.
The surgery is located near to Birkdale Village with easyaccess to main bus routes and commuting links to Liverpool, Manchester andPreston by rail.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
1. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
2. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract.
3. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
4. Effective management of long-term conditions.
5. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, investigations, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.

7. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
8. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
9. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
10. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
11. Action clinical areas required for QOF.
12. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
13. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training.
14. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
15. Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
16. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
17. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
18. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies.
19. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:

21. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
