Your new role Lead, plan, develop, and deliver expert professional services within the Asset Management Service. Support the development, management, and delivery of council services. Oversee staff responsible for service delivery and support within the service area. Ensure the Council maximises service outcomes in terms of cost efficiency. The Senior Surveyor manages assets within the Council’s property portfolio used by the borough’s voluntary and community sector. This role includes developing a comprehensive strategy to maximise the use and value of the Council’s assets in alignment with corporate and political priorities. The post holder will need to cultivate positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including members, local landowners, and community groups. What you'll need to succeed Ideally extensive experience in a similarly complex public sector organisation within an asset management role. Ideally, experience of working in the charity/ not-for-profit sector. Proficient in the property lifecycle, strategic asset management, financial analysis, and risk management. Capable of developing strategies, policies, and procedures that align with service and corporate priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and manage key stakeholders effectively. Proactive and organized in managing tasks and priorities, with the ability to work well under pressure. Able to work independently to achieve organisational objectives. Membership in a relevant professional body or association (e.g., Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous.
