Description
Our PCV Drivers provide a professional driving service that supports our clients and service users on our Contract Services. Candidates should have strong customer service skills, be able to operate mobile apps, and communicate effectively to enhance the customer experience. Drivers should understand disability issues and deliver the service with patience and a calm attitude. A good knowledge of GB Domestic and EU Drivers Hours is required, as well as familiarity with London. This role involves joining our Commercial team to operate shuttle services for high-profile clients. Drivers must provide all customers with excellent customer service and communication throughout their journeys. Maintaining a professional demeanor throughout the day and ensuring vehicle presentation and teamwork are displayed at all times is expected. Overtime opportunities may be available within the commercial department, possibly including Private Hire, other Contract services, or Rail Replacement. The main service operates primarily Monday to Friday on a split shift basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Report any fines or tickets to the office promptly.
* Perform mandatory vehicle checks each time the vehicle is used, to a roadworthy standard. Report any defects to the office.
* Ensure the vehicle has adequate fuel/charge for the journey, refuelling/charging as necessary.
* Clean the vehicle inside and out regularly, at least weekly.
* Remove and replace seating as required.
* Park the vehicle correctly in the depot, in pre-allocated bays when possible.
* Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient and informative manner.
* Assist the depot team with their duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to deliver the service with patience and a calm attitude.
* Hold a full unrestricted D driving license (automatic restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Hold a CPC qualification card, with mandatory training up to date.
* Minimum of two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
* Hold or be willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
* Willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
* Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report.
