The Role
Bolton Council Schools HR Team have the exciting opportunity to be able to recruit a fully CIPD Level 5 qualified and experienced HR Adviser to work within the existing School’s HR Team, playing a vital role in supporting the delivery of our high-quality HR Service Level Agreement to Schools across the Borough.
You will be responsible for the management of your own portfolio of Schools, and you will act as the first point of contact for Head Teachers, School Business Managers and Governing Bodies requiring specialist HR advice and guidance concerning the School’s workforce and related terms and conditions.
You will be required to advise on a range of HR queries, interpreting and applying the relevant legislation, policies and terms and conditions in order to manage and resolve cases. This is a varied role dealing with day-to-day HR issues as well as complex matters, including school restructure programs, TUPE and safeguarding. You will possess excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills as well as an up to date working knowledge of HR and employment law.
About You
The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified with extensive HR Adviser experience, self-motivated, professional and personable. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, often with conflicting demands and will therefore need to be organised, focused on detail, and comfortable with dealing with IT systems.

You must also possess adequate vehicle insurance cover to comply with the council’s requirements, in line with the Travel Costs Reimbursement Policy
