We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Children's Integrated Therapy Team here in Hillingdon. We welcome applications from qualified therapists who are looking for a change or from newly qualified therapists with a strong desire to work in the area of community paediatrics.
Our service is responsible for providing physiotherapy intervention to children within the borough of Hillingdon, treating children and young adults with physical impairments and/or developmental difficulties.
We work out of a main base at Wood End Centre in Hayes and The Child Development Centre on the grounds of Hillingdon Hospital. We also work in other settings such as Children's Centres, special and mainstream schools, and patients' homes.
The London borough of Hillingdon has good transport links to the center of London by tube, bus, and road including the M4 and M40 and access to the surrounding counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary paediatric team and work closely alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and therapy assistants. The caseload includes orthopaedics (torticollis, talipes, Erb's Palsy, etc.) to complex conditions. The caseload you will be responsible for will be highly varied and promote your clinical and professional development. Clinics that we offer include hydrotherapy, CPIP-UK, multi-disciplinary DCD clinics, and serial casting, as well as running developmental and exercise groups. We also have a service level agreement with Hillingdon Hospital to provide a Ponseti service with the local orthopaedic team. Multi-disciplinary working with various other health professionals and the local authority is a vital component of this position. Close links also exist between Hillingdon Hospital and some of the tertiary centers within the London area.
The successful candidate will be expected to be highly motivated, energetic, and a true team player with some experience in paediatric physiotherapy. Excellent communication skills are expected, and own transport will also be beneficial.

* To manage own clinical caseload within the community setting as a member of the children's physiotherapy team with support from senior staff via various methods.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Recognised Physiotherapy Degree qualification or equivalent.
* Registered member of Health Professions Council-licence (HPC) to practice.
* Registered Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Desirable
* Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups.
Experience
Essential
* Experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level of working with children and young people.
* Experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level of student placements or qualified clinical work to have provided a broad range of experience in neurological, orthopaedic, and musculo-skeletal conditions.
Desirable
* Experience of working with teachers/other professionals/parents.
* Postgraduate experience of writing clinical notes and reports.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Essential
* Understanding of the role of physiotherapy within paediatrics.
* Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions and equipment relevant to the above client group.
* Knowledge of assessment tools relevant to CYP with physical disabilities.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Awareness of national policies and procedures in particular safeguarding children, Children and Families Act, SEND code of practice and SEN tribunals, National Service framework for children, the children's bill, and foundation stage and National curriculum's.
* Awareness of the differences of a paediatric versus adult caseload.
* Highly developed negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
* Awareness of the roles of other professionals in Health education and Social Care involved with CYP.
