Then this post is for you We are looking for a Specialist Physiotherapist who will work within our team managing all of our client group but who will have a subspecialty within that role in MSK. We are looking to develop this post as a musculoskeletal link role that will provide our community patients with access to expert MSK assessment at home and will link closely with our MSK colleagues working within MSK outpatient physiotherapy around clinical pathways. The individual will also take responsibility for providing upskilling within our team to other physiotherapists with non-MSK subspecialties. It is important to emphasise that the successful candidate will however also be regularly assessing and treating patients with non-MSK problems that present to our team and should have the skillset and willingness to so do. We are looking for someone who is passionate about rehabilitation and enabling people to live their best life. You need to be a car driver with access to a car for work. You should have recent NHS experience of working in community settings and will be an experienced band 5 physiotherapist or already be a band 6 Physiotherapist. You should have worked within MSK since qualifying as a Physiotherapist. Main duties of the job To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. To provide a specific focus, within that role, on management of patients with Musculoskeletal Conditions, who need to be seen at home. To provide a diagnosis, develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for working in this area without direct supervision. Supervision will take the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences. Access to advice and support from a specialist physiotherapists within Community and MSK settings is available. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Participate in CPD and other departmental activities. Supervise band 5 staff, assistants/technicians and students. Take responsibility for students - supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification. Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams' practice within the department. Make recommendations to clinical or pathway lead of service for changes to practice by team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
