Summary
We are now looking for an Apprentice Chartered Accountant to join our team in Axminster starting September 2025. Training to become a Chartered Accountant is both rewarding and challenging and can open up huge opportunities for you; many of our staff started their career as trainees with us and have stayed with us throughout their working life.
Annual wage: £23,000 a year
As you progress through the qualification, so will your salary increase.
Training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7)
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am to 5.15pm, 36 hours a week
Possible start date: Monday 1 September

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
You will undertake both practical and theoretical training whilst studying for your ACA qualification under an apprenticeship agreement. We will fund your training and provide you with paid study leave to attend the courses so you will be earning while you are learning. You will get support from more experienced staff and Partners whilst assisting on client assignments. Some of the duties will include preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders; auditing financial statements and tax compliance work to mention just a few. You will have the opportunity to visit clients' premises to carry out your role and your work will be a mixture of teamwork and projects undertaken individually.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
College or training organisation: FIRST INTUITION LIMITED
Your training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7), Equal to master's degree
Course contents:
1. Build trusted and sustainable relationships with individuals and organisations.
2. Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities.
3. Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner.
4. Identify ethical dilemmas and understand the implications.
5. Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage time.
6. Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions.
Your training plan:
* Accountancy or taxation professional level 7 standard
* Practical and theoretical training whilst studying for your ACA qualification
* Apprentices without English or Mathematics at Level 2 must achieve this prior to the completion of the End Point Assessment
* Once you have completed the course you will be a qualified accountant.
* Regular pay reviews.

Essential qualifications:
* Degree Qualified (grade Pass)
Desirable qualifications:
* GCSE or equivalent in any subject (grade 4 and upwards)
* GCSE or equivalent in any subject (grade C upwards)
