This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the Weston Park Cancer Centre being part of our SACT Scheduling Team and leading our SACT reception and admin support team.
We are looking for a motivated individual who will be able to be flexible and efficient within our busy, varied and interesting team. You will be required to deliver a high level of Administrative Support, be able to work autonomously, and have the ability to work under pressure.
Good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties, are essential.
The post holder will work closely with the day case nursing, pharmacy, and admin teams at Weston Park Cancer Centre (WPCC) to provide an effective service.
The post holder will be required to work from our off-site facility at Burleigh Medical Centre, in Barnsley, and at Weston Park, Sheffield, as well as other locations where we deliver SACT within the Network.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake line management duties such as appraisals, sickness meetings, and work closely with the Service Coordinator regarding disciplinary issues.
You will be responsible for rota management to ensure appropriate A&C cover for the Day Case Unit and Burleigh Medical Centre.
You will attend regular meetings with the Service Coordinator to report on Day Case issues as well as assist in reviewing patient activity.
In addition to line management duties, you will ensure that Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is scheduled efficiently and effectively across the Day Case Units at both Weston Park Hospital and Burleigh Medical Centre and, if required, the South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw, and North Derbyshire Cancer Alliance.
The base for the service is Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield, S10 2SJ, and also Burleigh Medical Centre. In addition, the post holder may also be required to undertake duties at any of the other sites where Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is responsible for delivering cancer treatment activity, and it is a condition of employment that they are able to. It is anticipated that this may include the hospitals at Barnsley, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Doncaster, as well as any other sites within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Network.
This role will be involved in making a positive difference to the patient's experience of cancer treatment.

Weston Park Cancer Centre is the leading Cancer Centre in the North East of England, with its clinicians providing non-surgical oncology services to the populations of Barnsley, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield, as well as patients further afield.
The purpose of the Day Case unit is to provide an efficient, effective, and caring SACT delivery service to patients from across the South Yorkshire Region.
The Day Case Unit delivers SACT to approximately 70 patients each day. SACT treatments vary significantly in duration of treatment and chairs on the Unit. Effective scheduling of treatments and coordination of patient flow is essential to the service.
The Admin and Clerical team within Weston Park are currently undergoing a cycle of improvement meaning as well as leading a service that supports patients at their most vulnerable, you can also contribute to innovations underway and bring your ideas to the creative improvement space.

Education and Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English grade C (or equivalent) or equivalent experience
* NVQ L3 in Administration / Customer Service or Team Leading, or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience
* ECDL
