Description:
At Day to Day Care, our services are tailored to the specific needs of our clients and we are currently looking for enthusiastic, dedicated Homecare Workers to uphold and deliver the high standards of care that our clients require to remain living within the comfort of their own homes.
As a Homecare Worker, the type of assistance that you would be required to provide to our clients ranges from personal care (e.g. help with getting up and getting ready for the day, washing, bathing and toileting) to practical support with domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, shopping and preparing and cooking meals. In some cases, and only where you have been properly trained, you may be required to provide specialised care to support people with more complex needs.
Operating mainly in the Bromley and Orpington areas, all our Homecare Workers are assigned to specific neighbourhoods and allowed sufficient travel time between appointments so you can be assured that you will not be rushing from one appointment to another nor travelling long distances between care calls. We also ensure you have long enough to give your clients the high-quality support our reputation relies on.
We provide the necessary and time-critical information you need to do your job using mobile phone technology. This makes it so much easier for you to do your job well and gives you valuable peace of mind in case of an emergency.
As a Day to Day Care Homecare Worker, you will be challenged on a daily basis. We aim to deliver the best possible care at home to our clients and we can only do this if you are the best. The role demands that we choose high-quality candidates who are flexible, reliable, and client-focused. That’s why we place great emphasis on recruiting the right people for our business and, through ongoing training and career development learning, ensuring everyone can reach their full potential.
We value, respect, and trust every member of our team because we only select people with the right attitude and necessary aptitude for homecare support.
Qualifications:
A career as a Homecare Worker can be extremely rewarding. You do not need to have any formal, or informal, care experience to be the right type of person to work in homecare. As long as you are a genuinely caring person who will always put the needs of the client first then you are probably the right type of person for us.
A good Homecare Worker will develop a sound understanding of good care principles and excellent communication skills. You will need to be even-tempered and patient and be able to cope under pressure and with change. Importantly, you will need to be able to display empathy and warmth and build relationships with your clients and those around them.
As this is a community based role the successful candidate will need access to their own vehicle and be eligible to drive in the UK.
We are committed to our Homecare Workers and always treat colleagues fairly and with respect. We offer pay rates that are above the industry average as well as paid travel time. As a valued employee you will get paid leave (up to 28 days per year), be enrolled in the company pension scheme, and receive a free uniform and protective equipment, including gloves, aprons, and hand gel.
We also place great emphasis on your own personal and career development and, in addition to your mandatory training, we will encourage you to pursue additional professional qualifications. With the proper training, you will feel confident in your job, provide great care, and can potentially increase your salary as you gain further qualifications and experience.
As a family-run business, we believe every staff member deserves to be listened to and supported, so you can be the very best you can be. We have a friendly and experienced office team to support our care staff.
The Interview Process:
Applicants meeting the above criteria will be invited to schedule a short telephone interview during which we will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding both the role and working for Day to Day Care Ltd. Successful candidates will then be invited to schedule a face to face interview with us which will enable you and us to assess your suitability for the role. We will also be pleased to answer any further questions you may have.
DBS Certificates:
If you do not have a current DBS certificate we can arrange this for you. A DBS certificate costs £65. You will need to meet the cost of this initially and we will reimburse you once you complete three months employment.
