Patient and public engagement and communications are at the heart of the NHS and are core components of helping to transform services. As the world of the NHS gets more demanding and complex, there is a greater need to develop the NHS Frimley and the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System's (ICS) role in communicating and engaging with the public, partners, and other stakeholders.
Our purpose is to create an inspiring approach to engaging, involving, and communicating with communities, partners, and our teams. We use the insights we gather to make a difference to local people.
Main duties of the job
We have made a commitment to develop strong relationships with patients, local communities, and the public, and to build relationships that can help us ensure these voices are really heard. To do this, we need to have the capacity and ability to work in an integrated way, combining communications and engagement in the belief that good communications encourage engagement, and that good engagement informs communications.
The Communications and Engagement Officer will work as part of the NHS Frimley communications and engagement team, reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement.
About us
NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board was formed on 1 July 2022 under the Health and Care Act 2022, replacing NHS Frimley Clinical Commissioning Group.
The ICB is the new statutory NHS organisation responsible for planning and delivering health and care services. It will work collaboratively with partner organisations including the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector, people, and communities across the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS).
We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all. We believe that the best employers are those that reflect the communities they serve. We want to increase the diversity of our NHS leadership and particularly encourage applications from women, people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, LGBT communities, younger candidates, and from people with lived experience of disability, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles.
We are committed to delivering a trustworthy, flexible, and responsible staff culture.
Benefits include:
* Agile Working; currently 1 day a fortnight office based.
Supportive team, flexible working arrangements, and access to NHS leadership development and training opportunities.
Job responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive communications and engagement officer with a creative flair and passion for using different tools and methods to communicate and engage with different audiences across our ICS.
