We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. We’re looking for a motivated store manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador, motivating your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets.
What will I be doing?
1. Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
2. Taking ownership of commercial operations, including display, merchandising, stock management, and maintaining shop standards.
3. Leading by example and providing excellent customer service.
4. Maximizing profit through effective cost control and sales.
5. Creating relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
6. Organizing and running creative fundraising events to achieve targets.
7. Maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, and HR policies.
What skills are you looking for?
1. Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
2. Comfort working within targets and motivating others.
3. The ability to multi-task in a lively environment.
4. Working knowledge of great customer service.
5. Commercial awareness.
6. Knowledge of high street fashion retail.
7. Adaptability in changing situations.
8. An awareness of the price, value, and worth of items.
9. Experience in retail management is ideal.
Our retail teams work on a rota basis. Flexibility is needed, but we respect your life outside of work.
