Job Overview:
As a Social Video Editor at Dose of Society, you will play a key role in bringing bold and engaging stories to life across digital platforms. You'll work closely with scriptwriters and producers throughout the entire creative process—from brainstorming ideas and developing storylines, to editing footage into compelling content that reflects our voice and mission. Your work will help inform, inspire, and entertain audiences across the globe. A degree is a plus, but not essential—we care more about your ideas and your eye for storytelling.
Responsibilities:
Creative Editing:
* Turn raw footage into powerful short-form and mid-form videos tailored for social media platforms.
* Use creative editing techniques, motion graphics, color correction, and sound design to elevate storytelling.
* Work closely with scriptwriters and producers to bring scripts and concepts to life.
* Be actively involved in creative brainstorms, pitch sessions, and post-production reviews.
* Potentially assist in studio production (e.g., overseeing shoots, advising on framing or shot selection).
Technical Proficiency:
* Edit using software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
* Stay on top of emerging social trends, formats, and editing styles to keep content fresh and platform-relevant.
Content Delivery & Workflow:
* Ensure all videos meet our brand and quality standards before publishing.
* Export content in formats optimized for different social channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
* Organize and manage project files efficiently to streamline workflow and future edits.
Qualifications:
Experience:
* A solid portfolio of social-first edits that demonstrate creative flair and storytelling ability.
* Experience in editing interviews, documentaries, or branded content is a bonus.
Skills:
* Strong editing instincts, with an eye for pacing, transitions, and audience engagement.
* Collaborative mindset—comfortable working closely with creatives across disciplines.
* Strong communication skills and ability to give and take feedback constructively.
Education:
* Degree in Film, Media, Communications, or similar is helpful—but not required if you bring great ideas and a strong reel.
Personal Attributes:
* Passionate about social video, storytelling, and cultural trends.
* Proactive, creative, and always seeking to push ideas further.
Salary:
The salary for this role ranges from £21,000 to £27,000 per year, entirely dependent on experience and skillset.
Culture:
We are small but growing rapidly, we want someone who is able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. We are looking for someone who loves being part of a team but also has the ability to work independently. This is also a remote role, with occasions of going into our London office.
