We are now on the lookout for an experienced Production Manager to lead our Production Team. The team is our Creative Workshop, comprising of Scenic Painters, Bench Joiners, Sculptors and other skilled prop makers, who collectively produce high quality rental stock and bespoke items.
As Production Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, safety, quality and performance of the Production Team.
We pride ourselves in producing real-world moments of WOW, crafting magical experiences that spread joy and leave lasting impressions, so producing the highest quality props for our clients, whether it's rental stock or bespoke items is one of our primary aims.
This is a critical role within the company, with wide-ranging responsibilities. Alongside a quality and continuous improvement mindset, you will need to possess a passion for people leadership and development, as well as an understanding that this is a reactive industry, often working to short deadlines and last minute requests.

Responsibilities
1. Leading, motivating and supporting Production Department team
2. Overall organisation of workflows and ensuring all project builds/repairs are completed within budget and deadline, to required safety and quality standards.
3. Development of area supervisors via continuous improvement, delegation, empowerment and support
4. Overall management of Production budgets, identifying and implementing efficiencies or cost reduction methods where possible
5. Maintaining safe working practices including implementation and management of HSE, COSHH and PPE working practices, equipment maintenance and training.
6. Development and implementation of growth plans for department to meet our overall vision
7. Developing, establishing and implementing best practices for product builds, working closely with technical manager and other experts
8. Develop our operating systems that better control, monitor and record estimating, planning and reporting of builds and material usage.
9. Operational planning of equipment, resources and floorspace
10. Support the wider needs of the business and seasonal fluctuations, this will regularly involve supporting the Operational teams with resourcing at peak times and installs where possible.
Skills/Attributes Required
1. Experience in Production Management in a reactive manufacturing environment
2. The ability to operate at a senior level, coupled with a personable and engaging approach to managing people on a day to day basis
3. Passion and proficiency in people management and development
4. Strong understanding of HSE regulations, COSHH and manual handling
5. An understanding and practical experience of developing and implementing risk assessments
6. The ability to motivate people in a pressurised work environment which is subject to seasonable fluctuation, while continually fostering a safe working culture
7. The flexibility to work in response to our peak business periods which may include working additional hours, potentially at short notice, and may include occasional evenings and weekends.
8. Excellent commercial acumen and business awareness
9. The ability to interpret analytical information and product build specifications
10. Strategic planning skills– equipment, resources, floorspace
Hours of Work
Mon-Fri 8.00 – 16.30 with additional hours required and occasional weekends to meet the demands of the business
