Electrical Engineer - Didcot, Oxfordshire
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our client's Electrical Team in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Position Details:
1. Salary: £39,500 – £41,488.44
2. Hours: Monday – Friday (40 Hours)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform planned and reactive maintenance across various buildings within our client's portfolio.
2. Duties include inspection and testing, emergency light testing, PAT testing, RCD testing, and installation or repair of equipment such as lamps and sockets.
3. Work both independently and collaboratively with other trades, as needed.
4. Maintain effective communication with clients and suppliers, demonstrating strong written and verbal skills.
What We're Looking For:
1. Strong adherence to Health and Safety legislation and current good practices.
2. Experience with access equipment, as well as commercial and industrial installations.
3. Proficiency in testing and inspection, holding a 2391 certification or equivalent.
4. Full familiarity with the latest wiring regulations and competence in completing NICEIC certificates.
5. Flexibility to assist with minor building repairs, general maintenance, and contractor escort duties.
6. Ability to operate in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
7. Basic computer skills are desirable.
8. Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
9. Diligent, professional, and intuitive approach to work.
10. Ability to perform manual handling tasks and use electrical PPE as required.
Person Specification:
1. 18th Edition certification in electrical installation.
2. NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services - Electrical Installation.
3. City & Guilds 2391 testing and inspection, City & Guilds 2330 or NVQ equivalent, and City & Guilds 2377 certifications.
4. Previous experience in a commercial maintenance environment.
5. Flexibility to undertake tasks beyond specific trade duties.
6. Valid full driving license.
7. Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
8. Baseline security clearance is advantageous.
9. Strong customer service skills.
10. IPAF and PASMA certifications are beneficial but not mandatory; specialist safety training will be provided.
