Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated fleet manager to oversee its vehicle fleet, support teams across the Council in the effective operation and administration of their vehicles, and drive improvements and efficiencies in those operations. You will work closely with teams across the Council to ensure that the Council meets its statutory and legal responsibilities. You will also ensure that the Council's fleet operations contribute to the Councils wider objectives including in relation to sustainability and climate. What will you be doing? You will provide leadership for Cambridgeshire County Council’s fleet management arrangements and agree and implement measures that will improve the management of the fleet. You will ensure the In-house transport fleet meets the requirements of the Council, provides good value and achieves efficiencies through cost effective contracting and purchasing of vehicles. You will liaise with external suppliers to ensure vehicle serviceability. You will administer and improve the management of Council’s vehicle fleet, and support teams across the Council in managing their duties in relation to their fleet vehicles, You will manage and improve the provision of office, financial, management and supervision of transport support services, to ensure that services are delivered to a highest standards, and arrange training and develop operational processes. About you You will be an experienced manager with a proven track record of working in a large organisation on fleet management operations. You will have extensive technical, legislative and regulatory knowledge relating to vehicle fleets and their operation, and will have experience of working and communicating effectively across team and operational boundaries, addressing varied fleet requirements across those teams. You’ll bring commercial awareness to the role and will be able to drive efficiencies in the procurement and operation of the Council's vehicle fleet.
