Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the Single Point of Access (SPOA) in West Sussex. We are looking to recruit either into a Band 5 Nurse Development post or Band 6 Practitioner. We welcome Nurse applicants who are due to qualify this September, Nurses that are newly qualified and Nurses and those with some previous experience either as a Mental Health nurse or as a Paediatric Nurse with the right experience. The SPOA is designed to ensure that children, young people, their families, carers and relevant professionals are triaged and signposted to the most appropriate emotional wellbeing, mental health support and intervention which meets their needs at the earliest possible stage and with the minimum delay. Main duties of the job This is a new and exciting post to work alongside SPoA clinicians to agree on the most appropriate care pathways for children and young people referred into SPoA. This involves working in partnership with children, young people and their families and the wider professional networks to gather more information in order to make informed decisions on the most appropriate care pathways. To participate in case discussions and to develop an understanding of available services and evidence based therapeutic intervention to inform decision making of the most appropriate service to signpost too. You will be supported by more senior members of the team and offered supervision and reflective practice. About us We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire. The post holder will receive clinical and line management supervision and support as well opportunities for in-house training. Some post-registration training would be very welcome; however there are opportunities for CPD and being part of the wider Sussex CAMHS team through Away Days and other specialist training opportunities.
