Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an innovative, highly regulated manufacturing business based in Sheffield, who are looking for a Project Design Engineer to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has at least 2 years experience within highly regulated manufacturing industry and has worked within a project engineering or design function and is looking to join a well established, global manufacturing business.
As the Junior Project Design Engineer you will:
* Collaborate with the team to develop instrument and implant concepts from design to production.
* Use CAD for models, drawings, and FEA analysis.
* Support production by designing jigs and fixtures.
* Review and improve engineering drawings for better manufacturing efficiency and error reduction.
* Lead small to medium projects, managing timelines, budgets, and teams.
* Follow New Product Development procedures and maintain project documentation.
* Select and implement product testing, validation, and verification.
* Analyze test and validation data
* Manage risk assessments for products
To be considered for the Junior Project Design Engineer role you will need:
* Graduate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience (ideally 2+ years in a highly regulated industry)
* Background in mechanical design and engineering is beneficial
* Proficient in CAD modeling and assemblies, with the ability to conduct FEA and create high-quality, manufacturable engineering drawings and robust designs
* Experience using SolidWorks for design for manufacture is required
* Must be skilled in applying geometric tolerancing to drawings
* Knowledge of design testing, verification, and validation processes
* Familiarity with design risk management (DFMEA) and broader risk management practices
* Capable of managing projects, communicating progress and challenges, and delivering within time and budget constraints
* Able to present and explain technical information clearly at all levels
