Business Administration Manager
Salary: £36,650 per annum
Hours: Full time or Part time (minimum 30 hours per week)
Contract Type: Open Ended.

We are looking for someone who can expertly lead and motivate the ASTeC administration team.
You will be a team player who will take ownership for managing and prioritising the team's outputs. This is a busy role, in which you must be able to navigate unplanned occurrences alongside maintaining responsibility for ASTeC’s varied portfolio of administrative delivery. You will need to be confident delivering presentations, managing events, and publishing content on external web/social media platforms. You will have several years of experience in an administrative role and ideally have supervisory experience.
As manager of the ASTeC Admin Team, you will connect with senior level STFC staff and external visitors to the department every day. You will provide concise guidance to your team and facilitate a professional work environment where your team can fulfil their individual as well as team goals. You will also need to be willing to learn and increase your skill set as the job requires.
List of Duties/Work Programme/Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support for the STFC ASTeC Department management team and the Cockcroft Institute.
2. Provide leadership and supervision to the ASTeC administration team who support the department in a range of ways.
3. Management and maintenance of the department's SharePoint, external web/social media platforms.
4. Support Senior Leaders by attending and providing secretarial duties for priority/high-level Departmental meetings.
5. Lead delivery of ASTeC Events Management for conferences, workshops, and public events, encompassing planning, venue negotiation, procurement, resource management, budget control, and event delivery.

Essential:
1. Business administration qualification and/or significant administration management experience. (S)
2. Track record of decision making and a high level of responsibility (S&I)
3. Ability to motivate and develop staff (I)
4. Ability to re-prioritise and re-deploy work depending on the situation (I)
5. To be able to act on own initiative, set priorities and work well under pressure with attention to detail (I)
6. Ability to communicate effectively. (S&I)
7. Proficient with MS Office and document management/IT systems e.g. SharePoint, Office 365 (S&I)
