The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer to join our client, who is an established Global Leader within Renewable Energy Power Generation.
As a Senior AEMS Software Engineer delivering customer support for the business's digital solutions, your role involves developing solutions to improve products and resolve customer issues related to software, databases, and IT systems.
The engineer will contribute to the product deployment pipeline and ensure a strong process for quality assurance and automation. In this position, the engineer will serve as a technical expert, offering guidance and support to customers on the AEMS Reliance digital solutions.
What your role will look like:
* Work with customers to gather information, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
* Provide software engineering support for incoming tickets across various modules in the product.
* Research and troubleshoot issues involving all aspects of the solutions, including but not limited to configuration, user interface, network and communication connectivity, and performance.
* Develop fixes and product enhancements in collaboration with other GE Vernova teams.
* Read and understand complex application software codes and suggest fixes to resolve support issues.
* Perform regular build deployment activities, orchestrate the deployment process, and guide the application through different environments until it reaches production.
* Handle out-of-hours 24/7 emergency support.
* Facilitate the relationship between customer and 3rd party vendors with whom the customer contracts directly.
* Travel to customer sites at least three times per week in the region as required.
* In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
* Use judgment and have the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
What do you need to succeed?
* C++, C, Java, Linux (Red Hat), Oracle, Kubernetes (nice to have)
* Experience with SCADA or similar power transmission
* Must be able to attend client site 3 days a week near Reading
* Ability to achieve security clearance
* The existing right to work in the UK
