Level 2 Teaching Assistant Secondary Alternative Provision Level 2 Teaching Assistant Burnley Full-time 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday £12.90 - £13.50 p/h Teaching Personnel have been approached by a Secondary Specialist Provision within Burnley to recruit Level 2 Teaching Assistant. The school provides alternative provision for children with Social Emotional Mental Health and have previously had a negative experience of mainstream education. As a Teaching Assistant within this provision you will work towards establishing a supportive relationship with the children and parents concerned. Encouraging acceptance and inclusion of children with social emotional Mental Health. Expectations Work in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. Aim to remove barriers to learning. Manage challenging behaviours and offer techniques in order for children to deal with high pressure situations. Build and maintain positive relationships with both pupils and staff. Offer feedback to pupils. Reflect to the class teacher regarding pupil’s progress. As these environments can be challenging educators must have a keen passion in removing barriers to learning and have the stamina and resilience to re-engage pupils.
