Teaching and Learning Lead (SEN / SEMH) - Wembley I hope you are well, I am currently working with a special school in the Wembley area, we are recruiting for an experienced Teaching and Learning Lead to work in a Special Needs Primary School. The school specialise in providing support for children and young people with Social Emotional Mental Health and associated special needs. Location: Wembley (HA0) Contract Type: Fixed term until the end October 2025 Start Date: Immediate Duration: Monday - Friday (Full-Time) Needs of students: Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the Head Teacher to develop and maintain a high-quality learning provision. Design and implement a tailored curriculum that meets the needs of children with SEMH. Support and mentor the teaching and learning team to ensure high standards of education and care. Promote the social, emotional, and mental well-being of all students. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment. Ensure individual learning plans (IEPs) and interventions are in place for students with additional needs. Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and external professionals to support student development. Monitor and evaluate teaching quality and student progress, making improvements where necessary. Support the Head Teacher in the day-to-day operations, policies, and strategic planning of the school. Contribute to safeguarding policies, ensuring student safety and well-being. Required Skills & Experience: Strong experience working with children with SEMH needs in an educational setting. Proven ability to lead and support a team of educators Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies, curriculum planning, and behaviour management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, parents, and external agencies. Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare, and promoting an inclusive learning environment. To be eligible for this role you must have an Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
