About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client’s Network Operations Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their network infrastructure, supporting their mission to deliver outstanding value and convenience.

Responsibilities
1. Maintaining and optimising the network infrastructure
2. Ensuring seamless connectivity and performance across all systems
3. Work collaboratively with team members and other departments
4. Work closely with two other team members to ensure the daily operations of the network infrastructure are running smoothly and efficiently
5. Design and implement high-quality solutions that drive value and align with our client’s strategy
About You
1. Proven experience in network operations, administration or a similar role
2. Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware and software automation
3. Experience with network monitoring and management tools
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP)
8. Experience using common observability tools for network and application monitoring
9. Understanding of cloud networking and virtualisation technologies as well as working in complex hybrid environments
10. Knowledge of network security best practices and tools
11. Familiarity with scripting and automation tools
12. Background working on 2nd and 3rd line technical issues
