Job Purpose To take responsibility for fleet traffic planning to ensure that the logistics department meets the needs of the business by ensuring driver and vehicle productivity are maximised. This will be achieved through proactive management of routes and rotas, effective communication and problem solving, whilst promoting the Slicker workplace values. Main tasks and responsibilities Proactively manage the planning of the fleet to ensure that the needs of the business are met in the most efficient and productive way, by: Planning routes that promote operational efficiency and manage contingency planning Producing and maintaining driver and vehicle rotas in accordance with the routes and operational challenges such as VOR, servicing requirements, holidays, WTR and absence Prioritising and cancelling jobs depending on the needs of the business and communicating these changes to the relevant people Taking ownership of logistical problems that may arise, such as incidents, load rejections, access issues, etc. Liaise with customer service department, drivers and sub-contractors to facilitate resolutions and escalate to management when appropriate Providing daily support to the drivers to assist them with their roles Provide ETA’s when requested Daily updating of spreadsheets, data inputting and reporting Collate and submit driver timesheets to Payroll To monitor, report and communicate driver absenteeism and holidays to management and HR Carry out any reasonable request by Transport / Logistics Managers Essential skills and experience Demonstratable experience in a similar role is essential and waste industry experience would be desirable A sound working knowledge of office based IT including outlook, word and excel Excellent Customer service skills Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills, with a high leave of attention to detail Resilient with the ability to work well in a pressurised environment and to fast time demands A positive and solutions focused individual capable of using their own initiative CPC would be desirable but not essential Hours of work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 5pm.
