Job Title: Automation Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Data Protection Team on a contract basis with a leading Tier 1 bank. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and enhancement of our automation processes.
Responsibilities
1. Setup, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
2. Utilise Ansible, Python, and general scripting to automate various processes.
3. Convert vendor APIs into user-friendly offerings delivered via a third-party platform.
4. Collaborate with team members and work independently to solve problems and enhance the end-customer product.
5. Apply knowledge of infrastructure components, specifically databases and storage, to improve automation processes.
6. Utilise tools such as Cucumber, Gherkin, and Visual Studio as needed.
7. Adhere to feedback to improve overall product quality.
Essential Skills
8. Expertise in Ansible, Python, and general scripting.
9. Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline setup, configuration, and management.
10. Good understanding of infrastructure components, especially databases and storage.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
12. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
13. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
14. Experience in a financial institution or equivalent experience in a highly regulated/change-controlled environment.
15. Knowledge of Cucumber, Gherkin, and Visual Studio.
16. Competence with Jira.
17. Ability to work following the agile methodology.
18. Relevant certifications are a plus.
