An exciting opportunity has arisen for Meet and Greet Associates based at Harrison House, Grimsby. This role will provide reception cover and act as the initial point of contact for individuals presenting to Harrison House, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of service at all times. Harrison House is where the mental health Access and adult inpatient services are based, and is an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing essential mental health services to the population of NEL Lincolnshire.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Meet & Greet Associate involves liaising with individuals presenting to Harrison House and completing data collection, prior to informing the appropriate team, typically the Access Team.
This role will be pivotal to the experience of the individuals presenting to Harrison House, as well as their family members and carers. Working both within a team and under their own initiative, this role will ensure that individuals receive the appropriate level of information and emotional support in order to best meet their needs. The successful candidate will ensure that individuals are aware of the services and support available in order to meet any social needs identified and provided with information regarding these.
Whilst ensuring that individuals are kept updated, this role will also ensure that the appropriate teams are kept informed of information, such as an individual's presentation, their presenting need, anybody accompanying them, and approximate wait times.

Job responsibilities
1. Meeting and greeting individuals presenting to Harrison House
2. Gathering information from individuals presenting to Harrison House in a manner that is sensitive and upholds the principles of confidentiality
3. Sharing information with the appropriate Navigo colleagues in a manner that is respectful, sensitive, secure, and in accordance with confidentiality principles
4. Communicating respectfully and appropriately with stakeholders verbally, in writing, and through other communication methods such as email
5. Undertaking administration duties, including completion of checklists, filing, room bookings, maintaining spreadsheets databases, testing equipment, safety/security checks, maintaining logs, and other records as required
6. Implementing prevention and de-escalation strategies in accordance with Respect training as provided by the organisation
7. Providing emotional support and reassurance to individuals presenting at Harrison House in a manner that is sensitive and supportive, whilst also respectfully maintaining professional boundaries
8. Ensuring the upkeep of the Harrison House site, including general housekeeping and reporting maintenance issues
9. Completing and maintaining own mandatory training and converting this into practice
10. Updating individuals' patient records in accordance with guidelines, legislation, and scope of the job role
11. To ensure that visitors are processed correctly, including checking ID, signing-in, issuing badges, and ensuring that they are escorted when in staff-only areas where necessary
12. Ensuring that a suitable staff member is always present at the reception
13. Maintaining secure access to the staff-only areas
14. Testing and logging equipment checks, including fire safety equipment, personal alarms, first aid equipment, etc.
15. Checking and restocking supplies, including stationery and supplies within the onsite amenities, such as the reception, cafe, and toilet areas
16. Upholding high standards of health, safety, and security through effective checks, reporting or otherwise remedying issues, implementing own training, adherence to policies, and upholding high personal standards of housekeeping
17. Receiving bi-monthly supervision and attending team meetings
18. Supporting in covering periods of absence on Harrison House reception
19. Providing information and support to individuals presenting to Harrison House from the resources available, whilst ensuring that this does not impede or manifest in assured or clinical/social advice
20. Signposting individuals to appropriate teams in relation to available social interventions
21. Ensuring that individuals at Harrison House are offered refreshments, and process payments for chargeable food/drink items
22. Ensuring that the Harrison House reception telephone is answered within acceptable timeframes
23. Connecting individuals with Navigo and external services, including providing leaflets, contact details, etc. On occasion, it may be necessary to do this on behalf of the individual with their consent if they are not able to do this themselves or if directed to do so from a senior person
24. Being adaptive in communication, ensuring that adjustments are made in respect of individuals experiencing a physical, cognitive, learning, or other disadvantage in this respect.
25. Upholding the highest standards of professionalism pertaining to values, attitude, conduct, and language, and reporting any reported/observed shortcomings by anybody in respect of this

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or equivalent in English
* GCSE grade C or equivalent in IT or other computing/typing subject
* Care certificate or willing to work towards this within 3 years
* NVQ level 2 in administration or equivalent
* Relevant NVQ level 2 in health and/or social care
Experience
* At least 2 years work or voluntary experience working in a health care setting
* At least 1 years work or voluntary experience working with individuals with a mental health diagnosis
* Can evidence experience of using adaptive communication strategies, both verbal and non-verbal
* 1 years experience working with challenging behaviours
* 2 years experience working with individuals experiencing a perceived mental health crisis
Knowledge
* Can evidence knowledge of confidentiality legislation and frameworks
* Can evidence knowledge of services and frameworks available to meet individuals' social needs
Additional Requirements
