What you'll be doing: The Head of Loan Recovery and Management will lead a specialist team in managing underperforming and non-performing loans for our £1bn Partner Lending Scheme. This is a high-impact leadership role within our Partner Finance division, ensuring that our loan recovery strategy is efficient, compliant, and commercially effective. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic oversight of loan recovery, leading complex debt negotiations, managing restructuring plans, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate credit risks. You will also play a key role in evolving policy development and risk management strategies across the business. Key Responsibilities: Leading the Loan Recovery Function - Managing a specialist team and overseeing all aspects of loan recovery, ensuring commercial and regulatory compliance. Debt Negotiation & Restructuring - Handling complex recovery cases, negotiating with borrowers, and developing tailored repayment strategies. Credit Risk Management - Proactively monitoring loanbook performance, identifying risks, and implementing measures to improve recovery outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement - Working with senior leadership, including Field Management, Legal, Risk, Finance, and external advisors. Policy Development - Shaping and evolving debt recovery policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards. Leadership & Team Management - Leading the team, ensuring high performance and strong governance in loan recovery processes. Who we're looking for: We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in business lending, credit risk, and debt recovery. You should be able to balance commercial interests with regulatory compliance while maintaining sensitivity in borrower negotiations. You will have significant experience in credit risk management, business lending, and debt recovery, with a strong grasp of legal and regulatory frameworks. You will be a leader, able to manage teams effectively and lead on high profile loan recovery initiatives. You will have strong Financial & Legal Acumen, skilled in financial analysis, risk assessment, and contractual/legal structures in lending. You will have strong negotiation skills, able to engage & challenge borrowers and navigate complex financial discussions. You will think strategically, with the ability to develop and implement policies that improve loanbook performance and mitigate future risks.
