Cafe Cornell is our flagship community cafe, offering great food in a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere.
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work alongside adults with barriers to employment, providing work-based training in a live hospitality environment. We are also due to open our second premises by way of an Eco and Refill retail shop, which will also serve as a training space for our students.
Job Purpose
This post requires the candidate to work as part of our customer-facing team, ensuring high quality and great value food and drink are prepared and served to customers from a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. To support our trainee students to achieve their aspirations and employment goals. You will be a positive role model and have a can-do attitude. You should be friendly and approachable, supportive, and adaptable to change.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be a positive role model and adhere to our five-star standards in customer service and service delivery
• To work in a multipurpose role, including front of house, back of house, student support and in our retail shop
• Understanding and implementing food hygiene regulations to the highest standards (full training given)
• Support in the ordering, rotation, and control of stock as required
• Supporting the management in costs against budget
• Maintain and update HACCP systems as required (full training given)
• Supporting our participants in achieving next steps into further training, apprenticeships, or employment, supported Internship programmes or work experience placements,
• To undertake any mandatory training and any other additional training that the company deems relevant to your role.
• To work responsibly within The Enterprise East Group CIC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
