Looking for a Full-Time History Teacher – Secondary School in Andover, Hampshire GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Andover, Hampshire. This is a full-time position, available to start from February/Easter, depending on notice periods. The salary range for the role is £30k to £50k per year, based on experience, from ECT through to the Upper Pay Scale. A permanent contract will be offered following a successful probation period. Responsibilities of a History Teacher : Teach high-quality History lessons across various key stages, covering topics from ancient to modern history. Develop and implement lesson plans that engage students and encourage critical thinking. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback to support their academic growth. Create a classroom environment that encourages students to express their ideas and debate historical perspectives. Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and history-related events. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to curriculum delivery. Promote student well-being and provide additional support where needed. Required Qualifications for a History Teacher : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History. Experience teaching History at the secondary school level (ECTs are welcome). Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Ability to motivate students and inspire them to develop a love for History. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
