Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer
You'll be:
* Carrying out instrumentation design engineering activities, including co-ordination with the instrumentation design and other discipline groups.
* Ensuring that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
* Carrying out design work under direction from the Lead Instrumentation Engineer. Innovative in design work with regard to minimization of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity.
* Perform instrumentation engineering design duties. Duties will include equipment selection and specification, detail design in collaboration with designers and bid evaluation/ vendor document review and approval.
* Checking and approval of documentation as required. Planning and prioritizing own work and that of more junior staff so that parallel activities are all completed in a timely manner.
* Carrying out engineering calculations and check the work of more junior staff to deliver a quality functional input to projects.
* Generating and checking engineering estimates and execution strategies to provide optimal solutions and eliminate errors.
* Required to specify and technically select equipment for procurement satisfying project requirements.
You'll have:
* A degree in Control & Instrumentation required (or relevant subject); an advanced or supplementary degree would be an asset; ideally Chartered Engineer status.
* Capable of delivering project scope of work safely, against program, within budget and to required quality.
* Team leadership capability, excellent technical skills, commercial awareness are essential.
* Ability to meet requirements on scope and within the project timeline to ensure that contractual issues and technical risk are understood and addressed.
* Ability to work to procedures, standards and project systems as required. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills essential.
* Ability to lead and motivate engineering team to provide both timely and cost-effective solutions.
* A good knowledge of the process requirements on material handling facilities.
