Join Our Category Team at The Compleat Food Group Our Category department is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Category Analyst to join our brilliant team in Nottingham. You will provide analytical support to the Senior Category Manager and Customer Trading team, which will be integral in driving strategic direction for The Compleat Food Group & our customers. Working Hours & Salary: The working hours in this role are Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 5pm, with a 4pm finish on a Friday Nottingham (typically 3 days office-based). Travel will also occasionally be needed to attend meetings across TCFG sites. A typical 5 day / 39-hour week, with working hours flexible to respond to business requirements. Salary: £34,000 per annum Key Functions: To establish yourself as an integral part of The Compleat Food Group Category Management team and fulfil key accountabilities (as detailed below) to maintain our status as category experts within the industry. To be the custodian of the internal and external Retailer performance data for all areas of TCFG supply and relevant non-supply areas. To provide analytical support to the Senior Category Manager and Customer Trading team, which will be integral in driving strategic direction for TCFG & our customers. Works closely with the internal Commercial team to ensure there is a two-way supply of information sharing that drives opportunities to enhance performance. Identify & clearly articulate historical and current trends to make informed decisions on the future direction of the category. Provide support to internal Category & Commercial team to highlight issues affecting sales and other key metrics. Work in a close natural work team with frequent exposure to customer trading team. Co-ordinate the Store Audit process for the category function. To represent TCFG within the customer in a professional manner befitting of a world class supplier. Principle Accountabilities Monthly downloading of Chilled Savoury Pastry, Med Deli Dips & Plant based EPOS from the Retail Link, Quantium system. Create 12wk performance report by subsector, sector and total category (by 52wks) each area Update the internal 52/12/4 document with EPOS by sector. Populate the slides for the external monthly reports using EPOS, charts and Kantar sector reviews, along with performance commentary and observations/recommendations to drive growth. Update the internal promotional performance tracker using EPOS. Manage and update retailer price and promo changes through the Price Basket (every 3 weeks) and share internally all SKUs on promo and position in store. Manage the internal range maps and Quid tracker. Create and issue NPD alerts for both internal and external communication Collate Christmas product logging and presentation slides (internal and assist with external documents). Ad-hoc Activity Supports the Category lead with: Deep-dive projects by sector. Research (including the use of internal tools such as VYPR, Spoon Shot). TCFG Brand performance and strategy for growth. Channel performance reviews and recommendations. Highlights trends and market drivers Knowledge and Skills/Training/Experience Must: Be highly numerate with a logical & analytical approach to problem solving. Be PC Literate & have working expertise of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint. Have experience of using data management systems such as Kantar and IRI data systems. Have excellent communication, presentation skills both verbal & written. Have the ability to work under pressure with desire to ‘go the extra mile’ when required. Possess strong organisational skills & ability to prioritise workload. Be able to demonstrate ability to use initiative & exceed expectations. Have strength of conviction & ability to present reasoned & well researched recommendations. Be sensitive in handling highly confidential data, misuse will result in loss of status within customer. Nice to have experience (but not necessary): Experience of working for or working with a leading UK Major Multiple retailer or brand. Experience of using retailer specific data management systems such as Retail Link, Quantium, Dunnhumby, Aimia data Experience of conducting store audits. Ideally the candidate will have had some experience in a similar category role and be looking for a role that offers career progression towards a future Category Management position.
