Main duties of the job
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will:
* Work primarily as an anaesthetic practitioner.
* Lead and mentor junior members of the team, deputising for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when necessary.
* Prepare operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required.
* Ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control are carried out.
* Assess patient care requirements, implementing care, and evaluating outcomes.
Qualifications
* Be a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
* Post registration qualification as Practice Supervisor or Assessor
Experience
* Post registration experience as a Theatre Practitioner in Anaesthetics
* Have experience in planning, organising and running lists within the theatre suite.
* Experience of supervising staff and scheduling operating lists
* Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.
* Post registration clinical experience in Orthopaedic Scrub, in an acute hospital (NHS or Private) within the last 18 months.
