The opportunity has arisen at Alderwasley Hall School Sixth Form for a Care Manager. You will be a member of a strong team that has been judged as Good by Ofsted. A strong awareness of safeguarding practice is essential as well as being able to promote equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
You will be a mentor and leader and provide support and advice to your colleagues. The role of Care Manager requires you to be a positive role model for others and have an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. All staff must be flexible and willing to work shifts that include some evenings, weekends, school holidays (including Bank Holidays) and sleep-ins. Successful applicants should be enthusiastic, patient, understanding and have excellent team working skills. You must hold a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Caring for Children and Young People and have at least two years direct experience in residential child care. The successful applicants will have a strong background of working with children and have no recent record of disciplinary or concerns about their practice. This role is an excellent opportunity to develop your career for a future management position. Essential Criteria:- Successful applicants should be:-
* Strong background working with children - minimum of two years direct experience in residential child care.
* NVQ III in caring for children and young people
* Minimum of 1 years' experience supervising staff and leading a team
* Knowledge and understanding of Care Standard requirements
* Boots Med trained or equivalent
* Knowledge of child's safeguarding
* Able to work a range of shifts in evenings, weekends, public holidays and on call
Desirable Criteria:-
* Leadership / Management training NVQ Level III in Management
* Minimum of 3 years' experience of working in residential care / education
