As a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer, you will:
1. Create basic to highly complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems.
2. Perform studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other calculations.
3. Develop white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's technical knowledge Management (TKM).
4. Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
5. Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
6. Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests for proposal (RFPs).
7. Attend conferences and symposia to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services.
8. Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentor them for future growth.
9. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
2. Professional engineering (PE) license.
3. 7 years of related experience.
4. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required, contingent on specific duties and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience designing power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, and transit facilities.
2. Experience designing medium and low-voltage power distribution systems.
3. Familiarity with industry and federal codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.).
4. Experience conducting power system analysis using software such as SKM Power Tools and ETAP.

Skills and Abilities:
1. Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
2. Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
3. Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
4. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
5. Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
Pay Range Minimum: $90,605
Pay Range Maximum: $158,579
Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
Work Location Options: Hybrid Work Options may be considered for the successful candidate.
